In dieser zauberhaften Cosy Fantasy erzählt die Autorin der Stariel-Reihe einfühlsam von Sehnsucht nach Zugehörigkeit und der heilenden Kraft von Freundschaft und Gemeinschaft. Romantik, Humor, herrlich skurrile Figuren, eine tatkräftige Heldin und ein gefährlicher Feind sind die Zutaten für eine witzige und magische Geschichte, die lose an das Märchen von Rumpelstilzchen angelehnt ist. Besonders charmant sind die sprechende Katze und die starke Persönlichkeit des Hauses, außerdem sind Protagonisten wie Nebenfiguren liebevoll mit kleinen Eigenheiten ausgestaltet.
Die Handlung nimmt sich viel Zeit, erst zum Ende hin zieht das Tempo an, und es kommt zu einer dramatischen Konfrontation mit einem übermächtigen Gegner. Wunderbar ausgedacht, überzeugend erzählt. Für meinen Geschmack hätten die erotischen Beschreibungen weggelassen werden können, doch abgesehen davon hat mir die Lektüre großen Spaß gemacht.

Romance, humour, quirky characters, and a dangerous enemy combine into a witty and heartfelt story loosely inspired by the tale of Rumpelstiltskin. Highlights include the talking cat and the charming personality of the house, while both main and secondary characters are vividly brought to life with little quirks and details.
The plot unfolds at a leisurely pace, only picking up toward the end with a dramatic confrontation against a powerful foe. Personally, I could have done without the erotic passages, but overall, the book was a great deal of fun to read.
